Když dvě dospívající dívky, Bay a Daphne, zjistí, že byly při narození vyměněny, obrátí to jejich životy vzhůru nohama. Bay žije s rodiči a bratrem v přepychové vile a neslyšící Daphne s matkou a babičkou v chudinské čtvrti. Přesto se však jejich rodiny dohodnou na společném bydlení, aby si tak všichni mohli vynahradit ztracený čas.
